Why did you choose to set up / expand in London?

Not only does having an office in London give us access to the city’s massive pool of technology talent, but establishing our EMEA headquarters and further expanding in the city has enabled us to scale both in the UK and across Europe. And not only does the UK have the fifth-largest national economy in the world, but European economies account for half of the 10 wealthiest countries by GDP and of the Fortune Global 500, over 140 have their headquarters in Europe.

London provides us with a venue to engage with these organisations across Europe, which is essential as more and more companies around the world look to narrow the innovation gap and bring on technologies that will enable their people.

Key Achievements / Results Post-Expansion in London

  • Named a leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Identity and Access Management as a Service (IDaas), Worldwide three years in a row
  • Opened EMEA data center in September 2015
  • Launched multiple new products, including Okta Mobility Management, Okta Adaptive MFA and API Access Management
  • Raised an additional $150 million in funding

“Businesses all over the world are navigating extreme technology changes - whether it's cloud, mobile, APIs or machine learning, it's difficult to keep up with the rapid rate of innovation. For technology leaders in EMEA, the question is no longer why, but how they can securely and quickly adopt new and disruptive technologies. We established our EMEA headquarters in London to help organisations do just that, and we've been impressed with the forward-thinking and innovative companies we've encountered in London and beyond.”
