It launched its transaction network in 2008 providing order routing services for the fund management industry. The company now offers a range of products across the investment lifecycle designed to meet both short-term market needs and long-term transaction requirements.
The company has created the opportunity for the mutual fund market to become fully electronic, creating an independent cross-border transaction network. It enables buyers and sellers of mutual funds on different platforms to communicate orders and post trade processing electronically, by providing a universal message communication and “translation” service.
Today, with more than nine out of ten UK fund managers being connected, Calastone has more than 800 clients in 23 countries. Here is an emerging power player in a multi-trillion dollar industry.
