Unruly is a classic disruptive business.

Organisation details

“It’s a great high growth business, a superb example of ‘creative tech.’ It’s expanding rapidly in a number of markets and has a great leadership team”

Russ Shaw

From a small start-up in 2006 to an influential business whose platform is used by 84 per cent of the giant advertisers that make up the Ad Age 100 - the Unruly journey has been astonishing.

Founded by Scott Button, Matthew Cooke and Sarah Wood, Unruly is positioned at the intersection of three powerful, high-growth trends: online video advertising, social media and mobile.

Its predictive technology and capacity to spread social video at speed and scale across the Open Web makes Unruly a classic disruptive business. It has delivered, tracked and audited billions of video views and run thousands of social video campaigns.

After a $25m investment by Amadeus Capital, Van den Ende & Deitmers, and the Business Growth Fund in January 2012, Unruly promptly doubled its R&D team to power ahead with product development and new formats as well as geographic expansion. Today, the company has 15 offices across four continents and employs more than 200 Unrulies.

Unruly features in:

  • Sunday Times Tech Track 2013, 2014
  • Deloitte Fast 50 2013
  • Tech Tour 50
  • Future Fifty
  • LSE Elite
