London is home to many VC firms that specialise in edtech, making it easy for startups to access early-stage funding. Emerge Education and IBIS Capital are big VC players in the London edtech ecosystem. London-based edtech companies attracted £101.5m funding in 2019 across 38 deals.[2]
4. Room for opportunities
The UK edtech sector could be worth £3.4bn by 2021, with investment climbing by 91% from 2018 to 2019.[3] BESA, the British Educational Suppliers Association, works to support new and emerging companies in Britain in the education sector, with its Launchpad designed to support with training and research opportunities.[4]
